I started with a simple picture I found then I edited in photoshop/Illustrator. I gave it this painted look with my own custom brush. I wanted to make it look as classic & vintage as possible.
My process started by this picture on the left, I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with it at first. I imported it to my photoshop, select the layer and remove the background, then convert it to smart object. .
After creating my smart object I transfer the mask to a new window and start the editing process. I created this painted brush with simple edges. I play around with the brush until I get the perfect texture. Then I smooth it out with the fine with a smaller tip.
I was very impress with the results after I touch it a couple of times and was able to change the hue and the saturation it came out very vantage and mysterious.Then I wonder how would it look like as a book cover. I created a book cover with a lot of shadow and duplicate the layer several times and rotate them to give it a nice presentation feel.
